Granadia Typeface

At ALMASBAK, we designed the Arabic typeface for Granadia, the new lifestyle destination being developed by the General Organization for Social Insurance (GOSI) around Granada Mall in Riyadh, in collaboration with Gene Branding.


The typeface was created as a visual extension of Granadia’s dynamic and joyful identity, supporting a unified design system that brings together retail, business, hospitality, and entertainment all under one vibrant destination brand.


The challenge was to craft an Arabic typeface that reflects the destination’s new concept while harmonizing with its Latin counterpart. The tone needed to feel playful and soft, yet visually refined. This balance comes to life through the typeface’s wide curves, rounded terminals, and a blend of geometric structure with a humanistic feel.


The typeface was developed in two main weights: Book and Bold to ensure versatility across applications and to give Granadia a consistent, recognizable typographic presence at every touchpoint.
